Cabling
Cabling Layout:
PC:
- COM1 -> COM3 on EPS
- COM2 -> 'POS' Serial port on Postec
- COM3 -> Console on EPS (25 pin connection)
- COM4 -> Modem
- COM5 -> Output from Printer port on SmartTeller, via Parallel->Serial Convertor
- LPT1 -> Kiosk Printer, using
SmartTeller:
- Top port "COM1" (15 Pin) -> COM1 on EPS
- Middle -> Power
- Bottom port "COM2" (26 Pin but DB15 sized) -> Parallel/Serial Convertor -> COM5 on PC
EPS:
- COM1 -> COM1 on SmartTeller
- COM3 -> COM1 on PC
- 15 Pin -> 'UPS' box - note if this is faulty, you'll get an error 'POWER FAILURE' 'RECEIPT AVAILABLE' on the Smart Teller
- 25 pin -> COM3 on PC
- 'Telephone Line Only' -> Argent
Note: It seems like the prncap application does NOT like talking to com5 via a USB connection, and defaults to com1. This means there will need to be some cabling changes:
PC should now be:
- COM1 -> COM3 on EPS
- COM2 -> Postec
- COM3 -> Output of 'com2' on smartteller, into prncap
- COM4 -> Modem
- COM5 -> 25 pin on EPS.
This needs a bit of re-configuration, but shouldnt' be hard.
